Love Worth Fighting For, Part 9

(Jake and Vicky walk into the cottage. Donna and the boys are in the kitchen, getting lunch ready)

Vicky: Jake, I can’t just sit around here and wait. We have to do something.

Donna: How did the hypnosis go?

Vicky: (looks over at the boys and gives Donna look) I’ll fill you in later. Right now, I want to see how my two favorite guys are doing. (she walks over to the table and gives Kirk and Steven a hug and kiss) Hi guys.

Steven: Hi, mom. What’s up?

Vicky: How did you know something is up?

Steven: I can just tell.

Vicky: Smart kid.

Kirkland: I’m smart too.

Vicky: (laughing) Yes, you are.

(Donna takes Jake outside onto the porch.)

Donna: Is Victoria all right? What happened?

Jake: I don’t even know where you start, Donna. It might be better if Vick and I told you together.

Donna: Its bad, isn’t it.

Jake: We’re not sure yet.

(Vicky comes out onto the porch, closing the door behind her)

Jake: The boys okay?

Vicky: Yep, they’re upstairs playing video games. Did you tell mom yet?

Jake: No, honey I was waiting for you.

Donna: Well somebody, please tell me.

Vicky: During the hypnosis, I think I heard a baby crying.

Donna: Oh, darling! Do you think that means -

Jake: We’re not sure, Donna.

Vicky: There’s more.

Donna: What? Oh, this is wonderful if the twins are out there. (hugging Vicky)

Vicky: I saw Grant, mom.

Donna: Oh no!

Jake: We think its possible that Grant was behind this.

Donna: What about that Alec, what was his name?

Vicky: Wallace.

Donna: Yes, Alec Wallace. I thought he was behind Victoria’s abduction.

Jake: That is what we thought too. Gary is working on this. Hopefully we will hear from him soon. We should get back inside in case he tries calling.

Vicky: Yeah, come on.

(The cottage, a few hours later)
Vicky: I can’t just sit here and do nothing. If our babies are out there, we have to find them now.

Jake: I know how you feel. But we shouldn’t get our hopes up just yet.

Vicky: When I heard that baby cry, Jake - I just… I got chills. For the first time since this happened, I had a little bit of hope. And it felt good.

Jake: (reaches out for Vicky) I know. Me too.

(Knock on door)

Jake: I’ll get it. (walks over to door and opens it - Gary barges right in. Vicky stands up)

Vicky: Gary -

Gary: We found him. We found Grant. He is in the Caribbean.

Vicky: (holding onto Jake’s arm) You did? What about the babies? Oh please tell me they are okay.

Gary: I’m sorry. I couldn’t get any information on the twins. But I booked a flight down right away.

Vicky: Jake and I are coming too.

Gary: I don’t know if that is a good idea -

Jake: No, Vicky is right. We have to go. If our children are down there, we’re going.

Gary: Okay, I don’t have time to argue. I’ll make the call on the way. Do you need to get packed?

Vicky: No, let’s go. I just have to run upstairs and tell mom. I’ll meet you guys outside. (she runs upstairs)

Jake: I haven’t seen her this happy in a long time.

Gary: Jake, I don’t want you two getting your hopes up. There is really no way of knowing about the babies until we get there.

Jake: I know, but we have to be optimistic for once.

(Gary, Jake and Vicky are at airport located on some tropical island. A man walks up to Gary.)

Man: Sinclair - good to see you again.

Gary: Nathan, this is Vicky and Jake McKinnon.

Nathan: Nice to meet you. I’m Nathan Murdock. Gary, I was able to locate where Harrison has been living for the past year. There is a gate in front of the house, but we can get around that.

Jake: Can we go now?

Nathan: Definitely.

Gary: Great. (to Jake and Vicky) Now you just let us handle this. Nathan will go up to the door and after we’re sure its Grant, then we’ll make our move.

Vicky: Fine. Let’s just go.

(The four are parked in front of a very nice beach house. Nathan gets out of the car, gets through the gate and disappears for a few moments.)

Vicky: (taking Jake’s hand) I can’t believe our little baby girls could be in there.

Jake: I know honey. Its only a few more minutes. And then we’ll know.

(Nathan comes back to the gate and motions for them to come in. The three get out of the car and head for the front door. Vicky sees a woman walking toward them.)

Vicky: That’s the woman that I saw when I was hypnotized.

Jake: Looks like we have the right place then.

(Grant is standing at the front door, when he notices Jake and Vicky, he begins to close the door, but is stopped by Nathan.)

Nathan: Not so fast, Mr. Harrison. (He holds out his badge) Nathan Murdock, FBI. You’re under arrest for faking your own death and possible kidnapping.

Grant: I haven’t kidnapped anyone.

Vicky: (walking into the foyer, approaching the woman) Bet you didn’t think you’d ever see me again.

Woman: Excuse me? I’ve never seen you before in my life.

Grant: This is my wife, Kimberly.

Vicky: Your wife? Oh this just gets better and better.

Jake: Where are the twins Grant? We know you have them. (Jake runs upstairs, prepared to search the house)

Grant: Stop that man! He has no right to come in here. Do you have a search warrant?

Vicky: (to Grant) How could you do this to me?

Grant: (who is being detained by Nathan) I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Vicky: Give it up Grant. The little game is over. Now tell me where my babies are. Right now!

Jake: (from upstairs) Vick! Vicky, up here.

Vicky: (runs upstairs) Jake, did you find them?

Jake: I found the nursery. (Jake and Vicky join hands and stand in the doorway of the nursery. They slowly walk over to one of the two cribs that are in the room. Sleeping very soundly in the crib is a little blonde-haired baby girl. Jake and Vicky both burst into tears.)

Vicky: Oh my God. She is our’s. (Vicky rubs the back of the little baby girl) She is so beautiful.

Jake: (who is in complete awe, kisses Vicky on the cheek) She looks like you.

Vicky: (reaches into the crib and picks up the baby) Hi baby, I’m your mommy. And this is your daddy.

Jake: (eyes filled with tears) Come on. (Jake kisses the forehead of his sleeping daughter and he and Vicky walk over to the other crib.) Look at her.

Vicky: (starting to cry again) Oh, Jake. She looks just like you. (Jake picks up the baby, who has a head full of dark brown hair) She is gorgeous.

Jake: They are both gorgeous.

(Jake and Vicky continue to stand in the nursery in amazement over their daughters.)

Vicky: I can’t believe this is happening. We found them. (leans over and kisses Jake) We found them.

(Gary comes into the nursery. He sees what Jake and Vicky have discovered.)

Gary: They were here. I can’t believe Harrison. What the hell was he thinking?

Vicky: Is he going to jail?

Gary: Yes, and he will be there for a very long time.

Vicky: That is all I needed to hear. Lets just get our beautiful little girls home. I want to get out of this place. I want to take my babies home.

Jake: Yeah, let’s get out of here. (He grabs a couple of diaper bags and blankets. Vicky gives him a look) We’ll get new ones of course when we get home.

Vicky: That’s for sure. Come on.
