Just the Six of Us, Part 2

A few days later...

Scene 3:

Vicky is sitting on the couch crying. As she cries, Jake walks down the stairs.

Jake (realizing that Vicky is crying): Vicky, what's wrong honey? (embraces her)

Vicky: Nothing....it's just....

Jake: It's just what?

Vicky: That commercial was so sad!

Jake (smiling): You're crying over a commercial!? (he laughs)

Vicky (slaps him on the arm): Don't you know that pregnant women are extremely emotional?

Jake: Now I do!

Vicky (gives Jake the look): McKinnon, you are skating on some thin ice!

Jake: I'm sorry honey. (kisses her cheek) Is that better?

Vicky: A little...

Jake: Well, how about now? (kisses her on the lips)

Vicky: Now we're talking. (pulls Jake into a kiss)

Scene 4:

Jake and Vicky are strolling through Bay City. Jake is carrying a ton of bags and Vicky is carrying a few small teddy bears.

Vicky: Jake, we have been shopping for three hours now!

Jake: I know, but I want our little girls to have everything.

Vicky: Oh, so now you think that we are having girls now too?

Jake: Well, hoping is more like it.

Vicky: You mean you don't want two little Jake Jr.'s running around playing football?

Jake: I wouldn't mind that...but I've also always wanted to have a little girl...and now, just maybe, I'll have two. (Jake starts to tear up.)

Vicky: Aw, Jake. I didn't know just how much you wanted girls...

Jake: Well, now you do. There's something else that I want.

Vicky (smiling devilishly): And what would that be, McKinnon?

Jake (laughing and looking at Carlino's): Some ice cream!

Vicky slaps him on the arm and causes him to drop all the bags. Jake picks up the bags while Vicky stands there laughing as the scene fades out.

Scene 5:

3 weeks left to go until Vicky is due. Jake is running around the house like a madman trying to get the nursery done.

Vicky (screaming up to Jake whose hammering away in the nursery): Jake...Jake....

Jake: What?

Vicky: Come downstairs and have something to drink...You must be hot.

Jake: Okay, I'll be right down.

Vicky goes into the kitchen to get some iced tea for Jake. She hears his footsteps on the stairs and she walks into the living room. Jake is all sweaty and is only wearing a tight pair of blue jeans! (That's right ladies! Jake all sweaty with no shirt!!)

Vicky: Wow!

Jake: You like, Mrs. McKinnon?? (spins around like he is modeling for Vicky)

Vicky: You bet...(walks over to Jake and puts her arms around him. She kisses him passionately.)

Jake: You better be careful. This is how you ended up like that...(points to Vicky's stomach. Vicky laughs.)

Vicky: Come on. I just made some iced tea. Sit down and I'll bring it to you.

Jake: Okay. (smacks Vicky on the butt as she walks away.)

Vicky gets to about where the dining room table is and then drops the glass of iced tea.

Jake: Vicky...Vicky...what's wrong?

Vicky: Jake, it's time.
