Scene 20

Jake and the boys are still at the cottage and Kirk is trying to think up a reason for Jake to sleep at the cottage

Steven: (bringing some drinks upstairs) Here Kirk

Kirk: Thanks Steven....hey Steven I need your help

Steven: With what?

Kirk: With Jake

Steven: What about Jake

Kirk: I need you to help me convince him to spend the night here tonight

Steven: Kirk, you know that we are going to a hotel, Jake doesn't want to stay here

Kirk: I know but he really, I mean really needs to...come on Steven don't you want to stay here

Steven: Well sure I do, this is home, but if Jake doesn't want to then....

Kirk: Then we will have to talk him into it

Steven: I don't know Kirk, you can try though

Kirk: Will you help me?

Steven: Sure why not (they go downstairs where Jake and Donna are talking)

Jake: (seeing the boys coming down the stairs) Well how was it seeing your old room

Steven: (looking at Kirk) Great but....

Jake: But what?

Steven: Well being here...well I just don't want to leave

Kirk: Me either

Jake: Don't worry guys we'll be spending a lot of time here

Kirk: Jake can we spend the night?

Jake: (looking at Kirk) Well I thought we would sleep in a hotel and come here in the morning

Kirk: Come on Jake....Please

Jake: Kirk...I...well....

Donna: (trying to help the boys out) Ohhh come on Jake, it would do me some good to have some company here

Jake: Well if this is really what you guys want.....Okay we can stay

Steven and Kirk: YEA!! (they both hug Jake)

Jake: Come on...come help me with the bags (Jake walks outside)

Kirk: Thanks Steven I owe ya one

Steven: No problem Kirk...why is it so important for Jake to sleep here?

Kirk: I don't really know....it's hard to explain

Steven: Whatever, I'm gonna go help Jake with the bags (As Steven walks out Donna walks up to Kirk)

Donna: Kirkland, why do you want Jake to stay here so bad?

Kirk: No reason, I just thought it would be fun

Donna: Uhh huh...okay, out with it

Kirk: (with that cute grin) with what?

Donna: (smiling back) With the truth

Kirk: Can I trust you Nana...I mean you have to promise not to tell Jake or anyone else

Donna: Promise

Kirk: I need you to help me make sure that Jake sleeps in his and Mommy's old room tonight

Donna: Why may I ask, is it so important

Kirk: I think Bridget is sending me messages and this is one of them, she said that if Jake spends the night in his bed then he will be the old Jake again

Donna: Bridget told you this?

Kirk: Yes, she keeps coming to me and talking to me

Donna: About Jake?

Kirk: Yeah, she promises that Jake will be happy again...but he has to spend the night here

Donna: (smiling) Well what do you want me to do sweetie?

Kirk: Well he's agreed to stay here tonight, that's a start...do you think he'll stay in his and Mommy's room?

Donna: I seriously doubt it Kirk...he'll probably sleep in the guest room upstairs, Marley's old room

Kirk: No... Nana he has to sleep in his and Mommy's room, Bridget said so

Donna: Well Kirk, I guess I could think up some kind of plan

Kirk: Could you really? Ohhh that would be awsome Nana, you are the coolest (he hears Jake yelling his name from outside)

Donna: Okay, you better go help Jake and Steven...I'll figure out something

Kirk: Okay, thanks Nana (Kirk runs outside)

Donna: Hmm...(picks up the phone and dials a number) Marley...hey darling I need a huge favor...actually it's for Kirk...well I need you to come over for dinner tonight...with Tyrone of course...I'll fill you in on everything else when you get here...see ya in a bit



Scene 21 Jake, Donna and the boys are getting ready for dinner


Jake: Okay boys go wash up dinner is almost ready (he hears a knock at the door) Donna are you expecting someone?

Donna: Actually yes...I invited Marley and Tyrone to join us...we have so much food...and I just thought

Jake: That's fine Donna (goes to open the door) Hi Marley, hey Tyrone

Marley: Hey Jake (gives him a hug) it's been a long time

Jake: (smiles) Too long, come on in

Tyrone: So how's the job in Oakdale?

Jake: Pretty good

Donna: Okay...dinner is ready

Jake: Hey boys come downstairs...dinner is ready (they come running downstairs)

Steven: Smells goo....(looks at Marley) Hey Aunt Marley

Marley: (goes over to Steven) Hi Steven....how are you?

Steven: I'm good

Kirk: (quietly) Hi Aunt Marley

Marley: Hey Kirk...gosh you boys have gotten so big

Jake: Come on boys let's eat before the food gets cold (the whole family sits down)

(they finish dinner and they are all sitting in the den)

Donna: Marley why don't you help me clean the dishes

Marley: Sure (Marley and Donna go into the kitchen) Okay so what's the plan

Donna: You and Tyrone are going to spend the night here tonight...in your old room...that way Jake has no choice but to sleep in his and Victoria's room

Marley: (smiles) I'm sure Jake will love me for this

Donna: Well we are doing this for Kirk...and who knows maybe there is some truth to this...maybe a couple nights in his and Victoria's room will make all the difference...(they go back into the den)

Donna: Well I was just talking to Marley and we decided that she and Tyrone should spend the night here tonight

Jake: Ooh really...well I guess you two can sleep in my old room

Marley: Actually Jake I was planning on sleeping in my old room

Jake: Well that's where I was going to sleep...besides you both can't fit in that bed of yours

Tyrone: (smiles) Ohhh I think we can manage

Marley: (smiles back) Besides it's only for one night

Jake: (still reluctant) Are you sure?

Marley: Positive (smiles at Kirk) trust me Jake this is best for everyone
