Scene 24

The next morning everyone is awake...including an exausted Jake

Donna: (looking at Jake) What's the matter with you? Didn't get much sleep lastnight?

Jake: No, it was one of those nights where you just toss and turn

Marley: Well here is some coffee, maybe this will help

Tyrone: Well I better get to work, I've got a case in about a hour and I need to get prepared

Marley: Okay, bye honey...I'll see you tonight (kisses him)

Tyrone: Bye everyone

Donna: Bye Tyrone

Jake: See ya later (Tyrone exits and Jake tries to liven up) So what would the two greatest boys in the world like to do today?

Steven: Ummm...I don't know...let's just take a day to go and visit some old friends

Jake: (smiling) You talk so grown up...well a day of 'welcome home' it is then...Marley, Donna...would you two lovely ladies like to join us?

Marley: No thanks, I have a lot to do today...maybe some other time

Donna: Well I have to go to work today but if the three of you would like to stop by the Harbor Club for lunch I would be just smitten

Jake: Donna I thought you were going to sell that place...I mean aren't you ready to retire

Donna: I was..but when (looks at the boys)...I just need to keep myself busy...to much time means too much thinking

Jake: Well then I guess it's just the guys...once again...not that I mind

Kirk: Yeah, I don't mind I like it this way

Jake: Okay well where should we go first?

Steven: I wanna go to Carlino's

Kirk: Yeah me too

Jake: Okay then Carlino's it is...we'll see you for lunch Donna

Donna: I'm counting on it Jake... hey boys I want hugs and kisses (the boys run over to her)...you too Jake, you are still my son-in-law

Jake: (kisses her cheek) Bye Donna(the three of them leave)

Donna: Ooh Bridget...I don't know if you are really up there, but if you are please find a way to make Jake and the boys stay in Bay City...please (she walks upstairs and Bridget appears)

Bridget: Well Miss Donna...if Jake had half of a mind...well he doesn't so things are a little harder than expected...but in the end it is always going to be Jake and Vicky forever...even if he has forgotten that...Steven and Kirk still remember


Scene 25 Jake and the boys arrive at Carlino's

Steven: (smiling) Some things never change

Jake: Well where would you guys like to sit

Kirk: Over there (they go to sit down)...Can we order a pizza Jake?

Jake: Maybe for dinner...we are eating lunch at the Harbor Club

Paulina: Well, well, well...hey Jake...and who are these two men you have with you today

Kirk: It's us Paulina...Steven and Kirk

Paulina: NO! It can't be...why the last time I saw Steven and Kirk they were just little boys

Kirk: Have I really grown that much?

Paulina: (smiling) Hardly recognized ya...so what's up...how's London?

Steven: Nothing like Bay City

Paulina: Well of course not...I mean there's no restaurants like this one...so are you going to order something

Jake: Sorry Cupcake but I just brought them by to visit...we have to go eat lunch at the Harbor Club

Paulina: (pouting)Ooh well...maybe next time you are in town...or I don't know...if you were to MOVE BACK HOME

Jake: Paulina...don't go there

Joe: Well if it isn't Jake Mckinnon...how ya been(shakes his hand)

Jake: Pretty good Joe...how's that little boy of yours?

Joe: Great...just great (smiles at Paulina)...have you told him?

Paulina: (a little hesitant) No I thought I would wait

Jake: Told me what

Joe: Paulina is pregnant again

Jake: (smiling) Well that's great Cupcake... how far along

Paulina: About 3 months

Steven: That's awsome Paulina...now Dante will be a big brother

Kirk: (quietly) Yeah, he'll be great...I've always wanted to be a big brother

Jake: (a little teary) That really is the best news... we are really happy for you

Paulina: Well I hate to run but I have to go take some more orders (taking Jake's hand)...we'll chat later

Jake: We sure will

Joe: Yeah, I've gotta get back to the precinct...I'll see ya Jake...bye Steven, bye Kirk

Jake: Bye Joe (looking at the boys) well where to next...we've got some time to spare before we are supposed to meet Nana for lunch

Steven: I know it doesn't sound like much fun but there is definitely somewhere we need to go

Jake: Where?

Steven: To see Mom

Kirk: You mean to see her grave?

Steven: Yeah....it's time Jake

Jake: Okay...if that's what you really want...are you sure you guys are up to this?

Steven: Yeah Jake...we're big boys remember

Jake: (smiles) Silly me, how could I forget...come on let's go (they walk out the door and we see Bridget again)

Bridget:(looking up at the sky) What now? He's so far gone...he's accepted her death...how can I ever get through to him now...how can I get him to wake up...ooh that's perfect...thank you

Kirk: Hang on Jake I forgot my jacket (walks back into Carlino's)...Hey Bridget...what are you doing here

Bridget: Hi Kirkland...I see that you did what I told you...Jake slept in his room lastnight

Kirk: Yeah, I had to tell Donna that I saw you though...I hope that wasn't a bad thing

Bridget: No that's fine...listen, I need you to get Jake to go somewhere today...I don't care how you do it just get him there

Kirk: Where? (Bridget whispers in his ear) why there?

Bridget: Just trust me...it's practically my last hope...just get him there and I will take care of the rest

Jake: (sticking his head inside the door) Hey Kirk, what's taking so long

Kirk: Sorry Jake...I'm coming...(whispering) you can count on me Bridget

Bridget: I know I can Kirkland...bye (she disappears)
