Love Survives, Part 1

Jake sat at his desk at the City Times. He had put in another long night at work. Since Isaac brought him the worker from the airport. He did everything he could to try and stay busy. If he wasn’t working, he was either visiting Donna or on the phone with Steven and Kirkland. He missed the boys so much. He wished that they were here with him then he would always have part of Vicky around, but Jake had no legal claim on Steven, and as much as he would have loved to have Kirkland with him, he could not separate the boys. They had already been through too much.

Jake missed Vicky so much, and even though he kept busy, every day was a struggle. He took Vicky’s wedding ring out of his pocket and held onto it as tears began streaming down his face. He started remembering all of the good times they had shared as he just sat there lost in his memories, and he whispered "I Love you Vicky", and he swore he heard her say "I love you too Jake"

Suddenly he heard a phone ring bringing him back to the present. He decided to check the emails that were sent to the editor and see if there was anything worth publishing in the next edition of the paper. There were about 25 messages and he started to make his way through them. Nothing captured his attention until he came to the one from someone whose email address was [email protected].
