(Vicky
goes to meet Jake for lunch the next day at the Herald. He
is sitting at his desk screaming into the phone)
Jake: What do you mean he won't talk now!!!! He's the whole
story!!! I've been working on this for months!!!!
Find a way! Get the story! Make him talk! (slams the
phone down) CHRIS!!!
(Vicky comes in and looks around the door)
Vicky: Did I come at a bad time?
Jake: It's never a bad time for you, baby. Or I guess, I
should say babies. How are my two most favorite people in
the world?
Vicky (she goes to sit on his lap): We're just fine! (kisses him)
Jake: Mmmmm You, Vicky McKinnon, have never been "just"
anything! (They kiss again)
Vicky: Really, everything okay here?
Jake: Nothing I can't handle. SO, did you stop by just to
completely brighten my day, oh most beautiful one, or did you
have something else in mind? (nuzzles her neck)
Vicky: Actually, I was wondering if you would like to take your
pregnant wife out to lunch?
Jake: I am hungry all of a sudden. We could stay in and
take care of that . . . (shifts her weight to pull her even
closer to him)
Vicky: Jake . . . really . . . I have something I want to run by
you . . . about Marley.
Jake: Marley? You certainly know how to kill a mood, don't
you?
Vicky: I'm sorry. It's just, I'm worried.
Jake :Okay, okay. Is this the thing about somehow proving
to Marley that Becca can't be who she thinks she is . . . cause I
don't see how that's gonna happen. Becca's not gonna tell
you a thing. You know that.
Vicky: I think I figured out a way around that. Becca won't
even have to know.
Jake: What are you up to young lady?
Vicky: I'm going to ask Gary.
Jake: Ask Gary to do what? Investigate Becca's past?
Oh, yeah, she's gonna love that!
Vicky: How's she ever gonna know? I'm not going to tell her
and it's only so Marley calms down. Gary's discreet.
Jake: It's a bad idea, Vick.
Vicky: It's not like I'm gonna ask Gary to find out every little
detail . . . just enough to show Marley. Where Becca was
born, who her parents were, where she grew up, where she went to
school. Just enough to get Marley off of this kick she's been on
lately. In the end it's a good deal for Becca. I get
the info, Marley lays off and Becca can relax and no one will bug
her.
Jake: Vicky, it will not work. Becca will find out and she
will be hurt. Don't ask Gary to do anything.
Vicky: But . . .
Jake: (in a mock Bridget kind of voice) VICTORIA!
Vicky: Okay, okay! Jeez, you don't have to call me that . .
.
Jake: We have a deal, then? We'll figure out what to do
about Marley somehow.
Vicky: All right. Good. Jake?
Jake :Yes, love of my life?
Vicky: I'm hungry . . . or actually . . . WE'RE hungry!
Jake: Here we go, huh? So, what do you two want to eat?
Vicky: Umm . . . Chocolate cake with Marshmallow sauce . . . and
Fettuccine Alfredo . . . and . . .
Jake: and what?
Vicky: A banana.
Jake: A banana?
Vicky: A banana.
Jake: Well, I guess we'd better do something about that, then
shouldn't we? Wait here for a sec while I get Chris to take
care of a few things. I'll be right back.
Vicky: (kisses him) Don't be gone long.
Jake: I won't. Just sit there, gorgeous, and I'll hurry
right back. (he kisses her again and then leaves to go find
Chris)
Vicky: (still sitting in Jake's chair facing the computer
on his desk.) Hmmm . . . there's an idea . . . (She reads an ad
on Jake's screen for some sort of on-line document tracer) It's
not Gary . . . No one will ever know, right? Okay, now how
do I do this? (Reads) Full name . . . Rebecca
Manderley Date of birth: Well, I think she said she was
born in May, and she's about Nick's age, so . . . that
would be . . . 1974. Place of birth: Chicago, Illinois.
That's what Nick said, right? Yeah. Send all
documents to: Vicky McKinnon, 711 Meadowlark Ln., Bay
City, IL 60601. And SEND. That's it?
Okay! (Jake comes back in)
Jake: All set?
Vicky: (with a gleam in her eye) Actually, yeah, I think we are.
(They leave)
(That evening. Jake, Vicky, Nick and Becca have just
finished dinner. They boys are upstairs playing video
games)
Nick: (over at the fireplace) I sure am glad you have this
fireplace, Vick. Otherwise, it would be pretty cold in
here. I guess, we should be glad you do since you guys
don't even have A/C! Why again is that?
Vicky: Because it's an old house and . . .
Jake: And Bridget bought it for us and Vicky loved it at first
sight. It wouldn't have mattered if it didn't have
windows!!! She would have moved in anyway!
Vicky: Say what you want . . . . I love it here (kisses Jake) and
so do you.
Jake: I do. And I love you. and (putting his hand on
Vicky's barely showing abdomen) I love you. I bet you'll
love this house as much as Mommy and I do.
Becca: It's a comfy house, Vick. Any child would be more
than lucky to grow up here. Speaking of kids, it's time for
my kid to take a bath.
Vicky: Ah, yes, the joys of bathing a two year old . . .
Jake: (with a dreamy smile on his face) Something I'm looking
forward to . . .
Nick: You're not going are you?
Becca: Nah, I figured I'd give him a bath and then put him to
sleep and then come back down. I've long since given up the
idea of my son spending the entire night in his own bed.
Nick: Let me do it.
Becca: What?
Nick: Let me give him his bath and put him to bed.
Becca: Why? Are you sure?
Nick: You stay down here and talk. I'll give the kid a
bath.
Becca: Ummm . . . Have you ever given a two year old a bath
before? It's a little . . .
Nick: Oh. please. How hard can it be?
Becca: Well, if you really want to . . . (Nick goes upstairs to
bathe Joshua)
Jake: (laughs) He is sooo gone, isn't he?
Becca: Has he ever . . .
Vicky: Nope. He's gonna get soaked!
Jake: Yep. I remember the first time I bathed one of those
munchkins . . .
Becca: (laughs) I bet you looked like you were the one taking a
bath!
Vicky: Yep. But you did look good. In fact . .
.
Jake: In fact what?
Vicky: (pulls him real close for a kiss) I remember thinking how
good you did look (they kiss again)
Becca: You guys are terrible!!! Why, exactly did it
take you guys so long to get together? (They continue to kiss and
Becca starts to clear the table. Vicky goes into the
kitchen and she and Becca begin to talk)
Becca: So, how're you feeling?
Vicky: Actually, pretty good. The morning sickness has died
down a bit so I no longer barf 1st thing every morning!
Becca: Always good. Jake still hovering?
Vicky: Oh, yeah. But I don't mind that so much. He
was the same with Steven.
Becca: With Steven? I thought you said this was the first
child you'd had together?
Vicky: It is, technically. But when I was pregnant with
Steven we both thought he was Jake's at first. It was kinda
weird. He was married to my sister of all people, and I was
involved with this rich guy. And yet . . . it just seemed
so natural to be having a baby together. Something about it
just made sense. Not that I would've admitted that at the
time . . . but I never really thought the baby wasn't Jake's.
Jake took such good care of me. He was sooo
attentive, and then of course he delivered Steven.
Becca: Must've been nice.
Vicky: Actually, it was a real mess! But this time is
different. I finally got it right.
Becca: I hope I do too one of these days.
Vicky: Speaking of which . . . How are things with Nick?
Becca: (blushing a bit but still very teasingly) Whatever
do you mean?
Vicky: I mean, you know, how are things??
Becca: Things???? What exactly is it that you want to know,
Vick?
Vicky: Well . . . You two sleeping together yet?
Becca: Vicky!
Vicky: What? You spend an awful lot of time together, I
almost never see you apart, the other day you did look awfully
cozy together, and he is upstairs giving your son a bath . .
.
Becca: (sarcastically) Please, Vicky, tell me what you're really
thinking . . .
Vicky: Okay. I think youre avoiding the question . .
.
Becca: Gee, was there a question in there? It sounded like
you were just trying to check out something you were pretty sure
was true!
Vicky: So, you're not going to tell me . . . (walking over to the
fridge) We have ways of making you talk.
Becca: Yes, Im sure you do. (Both turn towards each
other. Vicky has an open can of whipped cream aimed at
Becca. Becca has the water hose attachment aimed at Vicky)
Vicky: So, you gonna talk or what?
Becca: You know, Vicky, just because you're pregnant, doesn't
mean I won't . . .
Vicky: And just because you're one of my best friends and my
brother's in love with you . . .
Becca: He is not! (gets so excited she accidentally squirts
Vicky)
Vicky: OH, Yeah? (wiping the water off her face)
Becca: Oh, Vicky . . . I'm sooo sorry (laughing) I didn't mean .
. . (Vicky shoots whipped cream at her)
Vicky: Oh, will you look at that! How did that happen?
Becca:Youre toast!
Vicky: Hope you like . . . or rather Nick likes whipped cream!!!
(they continue to fight until Nick and Jake come into the
kitchen. Nick is now shirtless since he did indeed get soaked
while giving Joshua a bath)
Jake: Hey! What's going on in here? And more
importantly, how come I was invited???
Nick: (laughing) Ummm, Becky, do you plan on having some ice
cream with all of that whipped cream?
(Becca and Vicky look at each other and then turn to the guys)
Becca and Vicky: 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!!! (they aim their weapons at
the guys and shoot)
Vicky: (wiping the whipped cream out of her eyes cause Jake
managed to find another bottle of whipped cream) Okay, okay.
Times!! (he shoots her one last time) TIMES!!!!
Becca: Now that we're all a mess . . .
Jake: We could clean each other up! (looking at Vicky like she is
a banana split made with all his favorite flavors)
Becca: JAKE!
Nick: Sounds like a plan to me!
Vicky: NICK!
Jake: Okay. We do need to get out of the clothes I guess .
. .
Becca: Well, that's fine for you and Vicky, but what do Nick and
I do?
Vicky: I have an idea . . .
Becca: Watch it, Vick, I'm still armed . . .
Vicky: I only meant you could borrow stuff and wait here till
your stuff is ready. Where was your mind, young
lady?
Becca: Thanks. I would like to get out of these sticky
things . . .
Nick: (taking some whipped cream off her shirt) Need some help?
Becca: I think I can manage. (they all go up to change)
(They come back down and Jake and Vicky are in Jake's PJ's
(She's in his top and he's in the bottoms and Becca and Nick in
big shirts and boxers)
Becca: So . . . What should we do while we wait?
Jake: (kissing Vicky's neck) I have an idea . . .
Becca: You have a one track mind, McKinnon!
Nick: Not necessarily a bad thing . . .
Becca: (moving to the other side of the couch that she and Nick
are sitting on) Joshua!
Nick: Is UPSTAIRS and besides, isn't he a little young for this?
Becca: I mean, I am not going to participate in some sort of
make-out party with my two year old son right upstairs!
Vicky: You're right. How about we just talk.
Becca: Yeah. Okay
(all four stare)
Jake: We could watch a movie . . .
Nick: Yeah. Okay, (gets the TV guide and starts reading the
movie listings) 9 1/2 weeks, Body Heat, Titanic . . .
Vicky: Who wants to watch a movie anyway?
Becca: We could play a game . . .
Jake: Basketball! (Vicky slugs him) OW! What?
Nick: Like this? How about truth or dare?
Vicky: Okay.
Jake: Last time we played I certainly enjoyed it (Vicky smiles)
Becca: Okay . . .Truth or dare it is.
Vicky: I'm first.
Nick: How come?
Vicky: Cause I'm the big sister, and cause I want too, (nuzzles
Jake) right, Jake?
Jake: Anything you want, baby.
Vicky: Okay. Becca. Truth or dare?
Becca: Dare. Cause I know what you're gonna do if I say truth!
Vicky: Okay. Kiss Nick on the mouth for 20 seconds.
Becca: I knew I was in trouble . . . Come here, Nick. (they kiss
with increasing passion as the seconds tick by. Eventually, they
stop) Okay, ummm . . . my turn. Vicky, truth or dare?
Vicky: Truth.
Becca: Where was the hottest place you ever made love?
Vicky: Ummm (face lights up) a car. I was about 16 or
seventeen and Jake and I hot-wired the mayor's car and drove it
up to this place in Lassiter called "Look-out point"
and we opened the top and we stayed in the back seat and made
love in the moon-light.
Jake: You had on that little blue t-shirt and those jeans with
the holes in them.
Becca: Okay, that's obviously a vivid memory!
Vicky: It's one of the first things he ever remembered.
Jake: (kisses her) Yeah, if you're gonna have amnesia, I highly
recommend coming out of it that way!!
Nick: Okay, okay. My turn. Jake, truth or dare?
Jake: Well, that was definitely . . . so, truth.
Nick: How and when did you figure out Vicky was the only one for
you?
Jake: Well, I guess there were two times. The first was the
time when I saw her at the swings in Lassiter when I still
thought I was "Bunny Eberhardt" I saw Vicky and
it was like, "Oh, there you are . . . I've been looking for
you . . . That's where I'm supposed to be!" I had been
dreaming about her (Vicky is getting a little teary) I was just
so happy to see her that I picked her up on to my lap and kissed
her on the swing . . . Okay, Vick. Truth or dare?
Vicky: Truth.
Jake: Okay. What is the significance of October 15, 1977?
Vicky: (smiling) Hmmm . . . (totally teasing Jake) Let me think .
. . The first day you promised me forever. We were at the
swings and you promised me you'd always be there for me.
"No matter where, no matter who, no matter what.
Forever" Did you think I'd forget? Okay,
my turn again. Becca, Truth or dare?
Becca: Well, since the dare was so . . .
Nick: Enjoyable? Yummy?
Becca: (slugs him) I'll take truth this time.
Vicky: Explain "Crystal Blue Persuasion"
Becca: Oh. I thought maybe you'd forgotten, or maybe even
given up on that one.
Vicky: Don't you mean you hoped I had? I never give up.
Becca: Okay. Here goes. When we were about 16, Nick
had this weird English teacher who taught poetry by means of 60's
songs. At the end of the unit, everyone had to pick from a
list of songs and interpret one and do a paper on it.
Jake: And he picked "Crystal Blue Persuasion"?
Becca: Yep.
Vicky: So . . . what did he write? C'mon you're not getting
out of this this time!
Becca: Okay, Okay. Well, he had problems with it and so I
thought maybe if he played on our stereo, I could help or
something.
Vicky: Hang on, where were you guys?
Becca: Chicago.
Vicky: (rolls her eyes) You know what I mean . . .
Becca: Our um . . . "apartment". Actually, it was
an abandoned warehouse. But, it was home. The first
one I ever really remember having.
Vicky: Wait a minute here, "your" apartment? Like
as the two of you?
Jake: You were living together at 16???
Nick: Well . . . actually, starting when we were more like 14.
Vicky: Whoa!! Why . . . How . . . were you living together
at 14?!?!? Where was your Mom, Nick?
Nick: At work, she wasn't real observant.
Becca: Look. I needed a place to crash and after a while it
got to be silly for Nick to go back to his Mother's house.
He'd only have to come right back to check on me.
Vicky: Check on you? Why? And if your mother was
really that clueless, Nick, why didn't she just stay with you?
(Nick puts his hand on Becca's and looks deep into her eyes and
she nods as if to give him permission to continue)
Nick: Cause she was in really bad shape. Both emotionally
and physically. She was in no condition to be around
people. And I needed to keep her somewhere safe.
Jake: Safe? You make it sound like she was on the run or
something?? Were you in some sort of danger or something,
Becca?
Becca: Someone, not something. Do you want to know what he
wrote in the paper or what?
Vicky: (sensing that Becca has nearly reached her breaking point)
Yeah, so you two had been living together for about two
years and he had this paper to do. What happened next?
Becca: We put the song on and . . .
Nick: I asked her to dance (still holding Becca's hand) and
suddenly . . . I got the song.
Vicky: What do you mean, "you got the song"?
Becca: (taking her hand away) He could write the paper. He
did and got an "A".
Jake: I'm thinking there's more to this story . . .
Nick: There is.
Becca: Okay . . . I'm gonna go check on our clothes.
Vicky: Wait a minute . . . You're not going anywhere.
Becca: (starting to tear up) Vicky . . . Please . . . It
was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard and I will remember
it forever. Forever. I really have to . . . (nearly runs
toward the laundry room)
Vicky: Okay, little brother. Now, I really want to know
what you said.
Nick: It was like all of a sudden . . . we were dancing, and I
looked into those "Crystal Blue" eyes of hers and every
word in that song made sense. The part about "a new
day is dawning" . . . . I felt like that . . . everything
was going to be brand new . . . we were starting over . . . Like
maybe I wasn't that obnoxious, mouthy kid anymore and she wasn't
that frightened little girl running from everyone and everything
. . . "Don't you give up now" seemed to tell me that
things were going to be okay for me, for her, for us. That
I had done the right thing by hiding her. People had been
trying to hurt her for so long, and she was still around, alive
and the most amazing person I had ever known. She has a real
strength, you know. "Look to your soul" and
"What do you see?" . . . I saw her . . . us. And
I knew looking into those "Crystal Blue" eyes of hers I
would do anything for her . . . with or without
"persuasion"
.
Jake: Whoa. And you were only 16? What happened?
Nick: What always happens. What just happened right now.
She ran away a few months later.
Vicky: She's scared. Nick, do you still feel that way for
her . . . that much for her?
Nick :More. If I could, I'd marry her tomorrow and the
three of us would live happily ever after at the farm, always.
I'd never let anything happen to her again. No one
would even dare to try and her hurt again.. I'd make sure
of it. She'd be safe, always. That's why I asked you
when you knew about Vicky, Jake. Wanted to make sure I was
on the right track.
Vicky: Okay. Slow down. YOU are probably the scariest
thing in her life right now.
Jake: Why should Becca be scared? Didn't you hear him?
The man's got it covered. Whatever happened before,
Nick's gonna protect her.
Vicky: You guys just don't get it do you? You are the scary
ones!! You guys with all your grand declarations of love
and forever! And all those plans!!! Of course she
runs away!
Nick: Huh?
Vicky: (looks at Jake) Love is a scary concept for someone
like Becca. The two men I really loved scared me to death.
I ran as fast as I could and as far as I could . . .
Jake: (putting his arms around her and giving her a peck on the
cheek) Yes. I remember . . .
Nick :I don't understand.
Vicky: The name Grant Harrison ring a bell?
Nick: WHAT?!?!?
Vicky: I was soo convinced that Ryan was going to leave me, I
left him first.. And Jake scared me even worse. I was soo
scared of losing Jake, my best friend, (wrapping his arms around
her) I didn't even want to try things again with Jake, my first
love.
Jake: Give her some time, Nick. Just don't go anywhere and
she'll get the idea eventually.
Nick: Is that what worked for you?
Vicky: Yep.(kisses Jake) (Becca returns) I'm sorry honey.
Becca: For what? Nick, our stuff's not quite dry yet.
Nick: I'm sorry I scared you.
Becca: (a little confused and a little miffed) You didn't.
I'm not scared.
Nick: It's okay. Vicky explained. I'm not going anywhere,
not ever.
Vicky :Uhhh Nick, honey . . .
Nick: No matter what you do to try and chase me away. (Vicky puts
her hand to her head and shakes her head)
Becca: I am NOT scared of you, Nick Hudson!!!!
In fact, I'll prove it. Isn't it my turn anyway?
Okay, I dare all of you!!!
Nick: It's okay. You don't have to do this . . . I get it now.
Becca: Apparently, I do!! I dare ALL of you to a game of
poker, strip poker.
Vicky: (amused by the turn of events since Becca's reaction is
much like hers would have been) What should we play for?
Jake: Vicky, I don't . . .
Becca: What's the matter, you chicken, Jake?
Jake: Okay, fine, you're on.
Nick: Fine.
Becca: If I win, no more questions about my past.
Okay? Vicky?
Vicky: Okay. But, if I win, you tell me anything I want to
know.
Becca: Fine. Any question you want. 5 minutes. Jake?
Jake: A weekend alone with my wife. You babysit.
Becca: Done. Nick?
Nick: (strokes his chin) The three of us go away for a few days.
Becca: Away? OVERNIGHT???
Nick: If you don't want . . . it's okay. I told you I'm not
g . . .
Becca: (interrupts Nick mid sentence) FINE. If you win,
you, me and Josh go somewhere.
Vicky: I'll get the cards. Jake, you deal.
Nick: What're we playin'?
Vicky: (winks at Jake) Five card stud. Ok?
Jake :I should probably warn you guys, you're going to lose your
shirt playin' against Vicky.
Nick: (smiles) I can live with that . . . (looks at Becca) as
long as I'm not the only one . . .
Becca: Yeah. And who's the pro here anyway?
Vicky: Actually, Jake and I . . .
Becca: This is STRIP poker. I got paid to do this . . . and I
didn't need a set of cards to distract anyone either.
Jake: (laughs) As I recall no one WANTED anything else when you
were on stage . . .
Nick: I certainly wouldn't have . . . I still don't want
anything but you . . .
Vicky :JAKE!!! I thought you said . . . Becca, you said he
never . . .
Becca: Relax. He didn't. Not that I and everyone
didn't try and get his attention!
Vicky: Well, good. You want a strip show, McKinnon, we have
one here nightly.
Jake: I take it back . . . VICKY'S gonna lose her shirt!
Nick: That doesn't even look like it is her shirt.
Jake: You're right, it isn't. Can I have it back now,
honey??? (Jake's PJ top is of course all Vicky is wearing)
Vicky: You have to earn it off me, McKinnon.
Jake: Can't we just say I won already on principle??? You
know I will . . .
Vicky: Ummm, as I recall, the last time we played poker, I won!
Jake: Yeah, and God, you were such a sore winner too!!
Vicky: Different time, huh? (Goes to sit on his lap)
Becca: Hey, hey, hey. Are we playing or what?
(Jake starts to deal)
Nick: Isn't this gonna be a VERY short game? I mean . . .
(looking at Becca like she's his favorite brand of ice cream on a
very hot day) not that I'm not looking forward to beating the
pants . . . ummm, shorts . . . and shirt off of you . . . but we
aren't exactly wearing much.
Jake: And that's a problem for you?
Nick: Actually, nope. Guess not.
Vicky: (Takes a card and messes with her hair a bit in a way that
makes Jake's eyes sparkle) I'll start with these earrings .
. .
Jake: I'll see those earrings and raise you my watch. (takes his
hand all the way up above his elbow and moves them down slowly to
take off his watch and throw it in the pot (imagine how someone
would take off one of those long gloves))
Nick: (takes two cards) All right. I'll bet this ring
Michael gave me ..
Becca: (looks at cards) Hair clip, ring and necklace. (She
takes the hair clip off slowly and shakes her hair out and it
falls seductively around her shoulders and down her back a
little. She runs her fingers through it sensuously.
Kisses the ring and dangles the necklace around her chest
area before slowly removing it as well. Nick is about to jump out
of his skin.)
Vicky: Okay, Becca. FINE. I'll see your jewelry and I'll
raise you (looks at wedding and engagement rings) No . . . these
don't come off. I'll raise you one button of this shirt.
(undoes one button on her PJ top)
Jake: Hey, come on, I was hoping for the whole shirt.
Vicky: Be patient, baby.
Becca: You've would've made a decent stripper, Vick.
Vicky: Thanks.(shifts shirt a little to tease Jake a bit more and
winks at him)
Jake: (looks at his cards) Dealer stands. I'll untie these
(unties his bottoms)
Vicky: Need some help there, baby? (takes one finger and traces
her chest from below where her top is till buttoned all the way
up to her chin and through her hair)
Nick: Gee, Vicky. I wonder how many brothers actually get
to see their big sisters like this . . . Well, I don't have
anything to untie, so I'll raise you this shirt. (takes
shirt off and throws it at Becca) Oh! Sorry, Becky.
I guess I overshot the table a little there.
Becca: Yeah, right. One please, Jake. I'll raise you
these boxers. (She stands up and VERY slowly with a lot of
hip movement starts to take the boxers off of one leg and then
the other. She puts her leg right up on in front of
Nick and begins to massage it and takes her other leg and
basically stretches it out and runs her hands all over it.
As she stands there, the other leg is rubbing up against
him)
Nick: What are you doing???? (about to die of a massive
coronary)
Becca: I got a cramp. (leans over him so he can just barely see
inside her top) Are you all right, Nicky dear??? (teasingly
and completely aware of the effect she is having on him)
All of a sudden you look all feverish!!!
Nick: I am just fine. (Puts his hands back behind his head and
leans back in his chair in an attempt to look cool)
Vicky: Okay. Hmm . . . Gee, what should I do? I am a
little out of practice, but . . . I think I'll . . . RAISE YOU
THREE BUTTONS. (Vicky unbuttons all but the last button on her
top to reveal the center of her chest all the way down to just
above her barely showing abdomen)
Jake: You're killing me here. Somebody call! I'll do
it. All right, Vicky what do you got??
Vicky: Now here I thought you could basically see that . .
.
Becca: (Completely enjoying Jake and Nick's torture) And haven't
you seen it before anyway, McKinnon?
(Nick laughs and loses his balance and falls and hits his head)
NICK!!! (she goes over to see if he's hurt as Jake and
Vicky put their cards down and come together. Jake opens
the last button and they kiss passionately as he strokes her body
now barely covered by his PJ top.)
Becca: NICK! NICK! (lifts his head off the ground and into her
lap as she sits on the ground where he fell. Her hair is just
long enough to brush his face as she leans over him stroking his
head) Are you okay?
Nick: (opens his eyes and speaks almost inaudibly) That feels
nice.
Becca: What? I can't hear you.
Nick: Come closer.
Becca: (bends her face even closer to his so their faces are mere
millimeters apart) What? Are you all right? Nick . . . (He pulls
her head down to him and kisses her passionately. He
maneuvers them so he is lying on top of her on the ground where
he fell)
Jake: How about we go upstairs?
Vicky: (kissing him passionately and caressing his bare chest)
What about Nick and Becca?
Jake (kissing her neck) Who?
Vicky: Ohhhh . . . I can't remember . . .
Joshua: (who has come down the stairs and is standing directly in
front of Nick and Becca without anyone noticing) Mommy?
(Nick and Becca very suddenly get up and recover)
Becca: Yes? Honey, what is it?
Joshua: I tirsy.
Becca: You're thirsty?
Nick: (looks at Becca and then Josh) Well, then I guess we'd
better get you something to drink. (picks him up and puts him on
his shoulders and starts to walk towards the kitchen when he
remembers about Jake and Vicky and the state of the kitchen)
Upstairs. (they go up together)
(Vicky is holding her shirt together and smiling during this.
Jake is laughing)
Jake: He handled that well, I thought.
Vicky: I guess he'll have to get used to it . . .
Jake: Remember when that happened to us?
Vicky: With Kirkland . . . that was a close call . . .
Jake: (looking at her still holding the PJ top together) Not as
close as this one . . .
Vicky: (putting her hand on her stomach) You think maybe we
should have a talk with this one so she doesn't catch us doing
anything?
Jake: I think she's just gonna have to deal with the fact that
her parents can't keep their hands off each other.
Vicky: (smiles) Let's go upstairs . . .
(Scene fades to black)
