Same Day

Vicky: What are we going to name them?

Jake: Oh, wow, we never decided, did we?

Vicky: No, we didn’t, but I have a few ideas.

Jake: Oh yeah?

Vicky: I had a dream last night that I would name my first daughter, Bridget. Bridget Donna.

Jake: That’s beautiful, Vicky! Hello, Bridget!

He tickles her feel and she kicks his foot away. Jake and Vicky both laugh.

Jake: Now it’s my turn. I have been doing some thinking of my own about names. What would you think about Mary Kathleen?

Vicky: Oh, Jake, how perfect! Welcome to the world, Bridget Donna and Mary Kathleen.

They are mesmerized by their newborn daughters. Just then, the boys come running downstairs.

Vicky: Woah, hey guys! Come meet your sisters!

Jake: This is Bridget Donna (points to Bridget) and this is Mary Kathleen (points to Mary)

Steven: Aww! They are so cute. Can I hold them?

Kirk: Me too, I want to hold them, too.

Jake: Sure, men! Come sit over here. (he places Bridget in Steven’s arms and Mary in Kirk’s arms)

Steven: Wow, she is so little!

Vicky: Yes they are and they are going to need the help of both of you to grow up big and strong, like their dad. (Looks at Jake and smiles)

Jake: And beautiful like their mom! By the way, who do you think they look like?

Vicky: I think they have your nose and your mouth

Jake: Oh yeah, my best features! (he says jokingly) But I do believe they have your chin and most importantly your beautiful blue eyes.

Vicky: It’s too soon to tell that! They may have your beautiful eyes! (they kiss)

Steven: Kirk, I think we need to get out of here. They are going to be kissing all night.

Vicky: Ha Ha, very funny guys! But it is getting late, you better get upstairs and get ready for bed.

Jake takes the babies from Steven and Kirk and places them back in Vicky’s arms.

Jake: Good Night, Guys!

Vicky: Good Night, Kirkland (she kisses him) Good Night, Steven (she kisses him)

Kirkland: Good Night, Mom! Good Night, Jake!

Steven: Good Night, Mom! (he hugs her and goes over to Jake) Good Night, . . . Dad! (he hugs Jake)

Jake looks at Vicky and starts to tear up.

Jake: (bends down to look Steven in the eye) Thank you, Steven! Good Night!

Jake looks over at Vicky and she is asleep. Jake very gently takes the babies and places them into Michael’s crib. He covers them up, and goes over to Vicky. Jake lays down beside Vicky and kisses her on the forehead. He goes to sleep with a huge smile on his face.
